Course content
- Hardware and software of microcontrollers with focus on Freescale microcontrollers. - Hardware and software of PLCs. - Hardware and software of industrial computers. - Principles of real-time programming. - Connection of control computer with the controlled technological process. - Parallel and serial communication. - Industrial buses and their utilization in hierarchical control systems.

Learning outcomes
The course is aimed at making students familiar with implementation of computer-based control systems for controlling technological processes with use of all kinds of computer systems ? microcontrollers, PLC and industrial computers.
The student is able to implement both the hardware and software of a computer-based monitoring and control system for technological processes.
Prerequisites
It is assumed that the student has knowledge about basics of automatic control, knowledge of all kinds of computer systems, programming in assembly and C.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

Independent work, ability to solve assigned laboratory tasks on selected control system.The result of a subject examination is expressed on a six-point scale: A "výborně" (i.e. "excellent"), B "velmi dobře" (i.e. "very good"), C "dobře" (i.e. "good"), D "uspokojivě" (i.e. "satisfactory"), E "dostatečně" (i.e. "sufficient"), F "nedostatečně" (i.e. "fail").
